The risk to caregivers when handling patients continues to lead the nation, five simple steps can lead to dramatic reduction in these injuries without the need to purchase expensive equipment.
NoLiftTransfers, a way to keep the staff safe and at the same time have a safer environment for patients. Through this game chainging educational program, health care workers are able to learn the zero lift techniques prevent injuries to themselves or their patients. The program includes hands on training for the entire staff, review of skills, testing and certification.
There is a need to “develop a culture of safety,” says Rick Carbaugh “That way people can avoid being out of work due to injuries.” Carbaugh says the program teaches the staff how to use three simple tools to safely transfer the majority of patients.
